having to unplug your under hood lights when the hood is going to be opened for an undetermined amount of time. This is what I did.

Bought the switches at Radio Shack. You have to drill a 3/8" hole for switch installation. The wiring took about 5 minutes. This is an easy mod, and all you have to do is press the button for on/off. I keep mine in the off position unless I need the lights to come on. The mercury switch on the lights can sometimes get stuck in the on position with the hood closed, and you wouldn't know it till you went to start up the car. So it serves a double purpose.

Good idea! That's much better than leaving the connectors un-done because after years of grime and junk build-up the exposed connectors become filled with crap. You need to market that to the Corvette catalogs. It's an easy 100% mark up!

That is a great idea. I ran wire from each light to my cruis control bracket where I mounted a switch there.

Newer C4's (not sure what year this started, and not sure about callaway's) have a fuse inline, with a sealed connector so you can take out the fuse and not have to worry about the dirt/water getting into the two separate plugs.

The fuse is under the hood, front bumper area, drivers side. follow the wires to see if you have one... it is a black snap in style connector.
