87 Silver Coupe Way over 200k miles
I know this has been beat to death.
The 16" SZ50 on my 87 have finally gotten hard as a rock, they've got to go.
Who has any experience with the 255-50-16 G Force Sports?
It's up between them and the Kumho Estca 712.
The Kumho's on my brother in laws maxima were loud as heck so I'm a little scared of them.
The SZ50's were great for a long time. I wish B/F still made them.

I have Kumho Ecstas and I've never noticed any noise. Even if a tire is noisy, I personally have never considered that as anything that is objectionable, but that's just me.

I have used Kumho's on all types of vehicles with great success. They are a great bargain IMHO.

Good luck with your choice,

Just took a basically new set of Kumhos 16" tires off my 87 vert (650 miles) They were wearing like iron, but the car drove like a tank.. Replaced the tires/wheels with ZR1 knock-offs and Fusion tires in 17" configuration. There seems to be an improvement in ride, and a definite improvement in turn in and quickness in curves. I added new Bilsteins a few month ago but didn't see any difference in ride quality. With the new set-up it seems I have more suspension travel.

Exactly which Kumho's were you running?

Have a great day,

I've been running extsca 712 in my size (275/40r17) for two years, replaced goodyear gatorback. Love the Kumho's. They have great traction dry or wet, and any extra noise is some squealing only when I overpower into a turn - which I want to happen as it warns me to slow down. The goodyears let me know of this by sliding out from under me ! I'd get the K's again.

This Kumho is certainly a great looking tire at a very attractive price, and I have read good things about it. Take a look at the Avons that TireRack offers, as well.
