what is the biggest tire and wheel i can get on my 58 .i have heard alot
of answer and thought u guys could help.thank you for ur time

I recently decided to put a set of Caragar SS on my '60 and wrestled with the same question. I had 215/15 tires on the original wheels and reused the tires on 15X6 Cragar's. I was afraid to go any wider on the wheels because even with the stock wheels the tire seemed close to the leaf spring in the back so any "reversing" of the wheels would put the tires even closer. For that reason I didn't even bother wrestling with the more cumbersome problem of clearance in the front. I just went with what I was sure would work. Frankly, I was scared to death that a wheel/tire combination that was too big might not become obvious until it resulted in a "fiberglas event". With all said and done I'm very happy with the look of the 15X6 wheels. They seem to be perfeect for the car to me. :w

Yes, 215/70R15 on a 6" rim is most comfortable without endangering the body.
