I have a 93 coupe w/ 39000 miles and the original tires still on car. I just took a 1500 mile trip to detroit and back and realized i was pretty lucky. i got a bad vibration from 75 and up and believe its the tires. I tried to find a set of original goodyear replacement tires Eagle F1 GS D3 tires and NO ONE has them and Goodyear has stopped making them. I can get Khumo but wht the heck are these? i would like to stay w/ american, goodyear, Bf goodrich. can anyone offer any help?thanks:eyerole

I like the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S (All Season) when I can't get D3's.

I JUST replaced my tires with the KUHMO's yesterday. I got the upgraded tires. I had some KUHMO's on it and they were fine, just threadbare baloney skins. These tires are worth it for the price. I paid $700 for the upgraded tires, balance and everything. What a difference new tires make.

I just put some new Kumhos and KYB shocks on my 88 and the difference was amazing. There are 4 or 5 folks in the club that are running Kumho's and they all like them. I think I paid $117 each at Tire Discount.

My brother put Michelin pilot sports on his 99 but they are way to expensive for me.

Hi Ron. Yeah, the KUHMO Ecksta's (I think that's what they're called) drive beautifully. I recently put four new Bilstein shocks on it and the combination is much better and different. I couldn't be happier.

tires

Last week after reading comments in forum i put a set of Khumhos and a set of kyb shocks all around. I too bought the better tires. The stock Bilstiens were bad. right front broken and left leaking. Just got back from Chicago and what a differance. As soon as i pulled out on road I noticed ride and handling plus the new tires are quite. This time I was able to go above 80 w/o vibration . The car even handled the terrible roads in chicago much better. After living in Chicago for 51 years I could not believe how bad the roads really are. The city is NOT Vette friendly to drive on.
anyway thanks again to the forum and help. It sure makes life easier if someone tells about experiances w/ products.

I agree, this forum have a vast amount of knowledge and experience to draw on and the people are very friendly and helpful. I have been helped myself many times and for that I am very appreciative.

I have had Kumhos on my 90 for about 10,000 miles and they seem to be good, excellent wet road bite. I can't say they show much wear. I paid $132 mounted and balanced for mine.

I've had the Kumho Ecsta's for 3 years and 20,000 miles. I love 'em. I replaced the original Gatorbacks with them. One thing I noticed and like better is they give me some audible warnings when I'm about to break loose. The GY's were a form of silent death - no warning until I slid. I live in the mountains with lots of winding roads and sometimes I may drive a little faster than the posted limit :-)
The Kumho's need replacement now, I'll be getting more of them.

You only got 20,000 out of them!?
I have 34,000 miles Plus on my Kumho Ecsta ASX all seasons,Still Lots of tread and I can Still hear my Stereo!!!:boogie:boogie:boogieThere will Never be another set of BadYear Rumble Flats on my C5!!!:upthumbs

well maybe 25,000. I got about 30,000 from the GY's. They're a little tougher but harder, too. I often drive these mountain twisty roads a leetle fast. I'm sure that's hard on tire wear. I've only got 55,000 on the Vette total miles.
