I'm planning on buying tires or my 90 Vette and I'm considering the kumho 712's but worried about the large center groove on this tire and how it reacts with the ribbed freeways in the Los Angeles area. Does it set up any vibrations and has anybody had any experience with this?:bang

Do yourself a favor....spend a few more bucks and get the Firestone SZ-50's. You will like them much better....

I'll second that!:D

As a new owner, I just went through the same thought process on getting new tires. My 84 with 48k miles handled poorly with the Goodyears. I read everything I could here and on TireRack.com and ended up buying the Firestone SZ50's. It made it into an entirely new car and I couldn't be happier! I visited all the tire places in my area and got lots of different opinions, but I'm glad I spent a few extra $ and got the SZ50's. It hasn't rained yet here in New Mexico since I got the tires so I can't comment on their handling in the wet (the reviews say they are great), but the low road noise and better ride and grip have sold me!
