Hello Friends,

I would like to hear some pros/cons about changing the color of my Vette ,it is a 73 coupe w/ L-48 , auto trans , deluxe leather int , power windows , tilt - tele , a/c etc... and is bone stock . the ext is white w / med saddle int . My sensible side tells me to leave it stock and paint it back white and it will continue to keep its value. My emotional side tells me to paint it any color I like , maybe red or black ( not available in 73 ) because it is not a rare B/B or anything it just a sweet little Corvette
Thx crow

This is strange? I thought I already replied to this thread and there were like five or six other posts to it as well? Is this a duplicate or did the other posts get deleted?

I personally love white Corvettes! It's just a really nice color on a Vette, in my opinion. If you aren't worried about resale, then I would say go with it.

Good luck on the decision! And I hear aroudn the forums that if you don't get a good paint job (which = $$$$$) then due to the fiberglass body it might bubble up. You might want to do a little research and/or ask here about that.

This is a duplicate , the original is the next page

If it is bone stock, I'd keep the same color. Your opinion may be different, however...

Paint it the way you want it..I did...My car is originally Yellow...When i bought it was Mille Miglia....I painted it Black cherry pearl metallic and am putting a black top on it..changing from white....Go for it I absolutely love my new color and it gets tons of attention. But ultimately the choice is yours

My 72 was originally Ontario Orange, not a color that I'm very fond of. The car was repainted black long before I ever got my hands on it. Fortunately, the job was done by an excellent paint shop specializing in Vettes and it looks great.

I wanted a car that was as stock as possible. However, I have to say that the fact that it was repainted didn't bother me one bit when I decided to buy. I can't say that it hurt the re-sale value, either. I still paid top dollar for it.

Personally, I'd say forget about re-sale value...that goes for every aspect of what you do to the car. Make it the way you want it and stop worrying about future profit. Unless you've got an NCRS top-flight award winner, it's probably not going to make a difference anyway.

Enjoy.

Thanks guys for all the replys , I am leaning to keeping the stock color but adding a strip or two , she is a daily driver and I plan to make her like I want and enjoy for a long time . Her 30 th birthday is coming up yeah
