I am going to reinstall my clock on my C3. Should I put in an inline fuse? If so what amp?

As always thanks!

I don't think you can. Your clock is in the center cluster isn't it? If so its powered by the same circuit that powers all your gauges. That cluster is fused.

If everything is working fine I wouldn't try and put in a secondary fuse.

Remember fuses prevent fire! If you want to fues it then fues it. you will have a little extra protection. as far as value of fuse, find the normal current draw and double it. if the clock draws 1 amp, then fues at 2 amps. Fueses are good and they are cheap.

With all due respect to Bill...yes, fuses are good and, at least one is required on each circuit running from B+, however, multiple fuses on a circuit having a small number of components which draw similar current, do nothing but increase cost, complexity and the potential for problems with wires and connections. As said elsewhere in this thread, the clock on a C3 is fused in the existing wiring harness. Just install the clock and continue to allow the existing fuse protecting that circuit to do its job.

Hib is right... another fuse isn't necessary and might actually cause problems because a fuse adds another small load to the system which means a tiny drop of both power & voltage. It's not much of a difference but if your clock is sensitive...
