2009,1995,
My 1995 Vette LT1 coupe automatic top speed is 170 mph.

Not bad for a 14 year old sensation.

0-60 is 5.2 seconds.

thats pretty fast.....where in florida is this possible.?
i know in california its probably not except at nite..texas yes lots of room..montana and wyoming , for sure...

I have the same questions....curious where you got these numbers?

There are several places in Florida that if you are around there much and know where "Johnny" hangs out you can Really Wring one out!:thumb:thumb:thumb
I-95 south has allot of kinda desolate areas from Jacksonville to Jupiter! I wouldn't recommend any farther south than Jupiter though!!
SR 70 out though the marshes west of Fort Pierce,SR 60 out west of Vero Beach through the marshes is another good place if you know "Johnny's" schedule!!:thumb There is still places in the middle of Florida you won't see a cop for miles and miles!! Watch out for Alligators and Wild Bore on the road, they will really screw a car up!!:L:L:L

There were 4 gear ratios offered that year. Perhaps that has something to do with it.

If its on the open road, the road can have a slight decline and that can give you a few mph more... Or the LT-1 is just a beast along with the Vette and together they are one mean machine team!:cool

I think 170 is possible on a stock LT1!:thumb

My past 95's all had automatics with the 3.07 rear. My first had a CAI and a Corsa exhaust with some other small mods, its ran a best of 13.3.

I have a perfect 7 mile flat strech of highway near my house. Fastest my C4s went was about 167 on the decline side. It was slightly faster than bone stock. My C5 with just a Vararam and Corsa exhaust hit 172 in the same spot. Both cars may have gone faster, but after a few miles holding it wide open it just seems pointles. (But I did get some nice video of those runs)

there is a youtube of a ZO6 going through the gears up to 195mph and never shifted to 6th

so with those gears and 505hp(is that correct?) and can just barely pull 5th gear , gear ratios probably have little to do with true top end....you will just be in a different gear...
actually a lower gear with a 6 spd would be to your advantage...
i ran 4:10s in my Z28 and sufferd no ill effects except trying to keep it straight during acceleration...lol

However...all this banzi run talk is totally irresponsable..
the danger to wildlife is real..and it's relly stoopid to think it means anything to have a car that runs 2mph faster than your neighbors car...on the street anyway..
ive totaled out three cars and a motorcycle
5 orthopedic operations and permanent disability...
but
wow
I sure was fast

A 95 ZR-1 with 405hp reaches 180 mph in fifth. So...if Yager says a 95 with that 300hp LT1 will go 170, color me a skeptic.

Why not math-out an LT1 at it's rev limiter in fifth or in fourth with the automatic performance axle ratio and see if it's possible.

If I may add 6th gear is over drive in a mostly stock car. To get deep in triple digits you need horses, lots of them and that will happen in 5th not 6th. Before my recents upgrades I rarely used 6th gear.

5th and 6th are both overdrives...see my post and check out the "Corvettes" on youtube....fun stuff:w

With stock gears you cannot top end in 4th because you will redline. You cannot top end in 6th because of the rpm drop off. With that in mind I would not personally call 5th an over drive gear. In MHO of course.
