Alright so everything else is loose and ready to come off, except the top winshield trim. I can't figure out how to disengage the spring clips, anyone have a clue??

Chad,

I had a small leak on the driver side top corner of my windshield and I wanted to correct the leak and also paint the molding to look new again. I asked several local's how to remove the molding and even bought a tool for removing it. I removed the side pilar molding first and then tried this tool, well it didn't work the way it was explained to me. So, I decided to go it on my own and was able to locate the location of each clip and all I did was lift the molding up by inserting the tool on the lower edge of the trim and lifting. I started at one side and worked across the top to the other side. I had no problem with it and it went back on after painting and looks new.

Maybe one of the other members has a better explination. Hope this helps.

You just have to pry it up out of the clips. But, and there is always a but, it will bend real easily if you are not carefull. A real expensive mistake. And you already removed the screws on the back edge? Good luck.
