Anyone know the pounds of pull specification for the 2002 serpentine (alt) belt tensioner.?

Not quite sure what you mean but the torque specification on the tensioner itself is 37 lb/ft according to the 2002 service manual.

I doubt that the torque specification for the belt tensioner bolt is what JCR is asking about. (Although that information is necessary for the repair that is being contemplated.) The "pull" number measures the tension on the belt itself - too loose, and the belt jumps a cog; too tight, and bearings develop premature wear and the belt will fail prematurely. I would imagine the number and the point of measurement is contained in the factory service manual - another reason to get a copy of the manual if you are going to be servicing the car. You may find that the cost of the measurement tool is non-trivial as well.

That is eactly right and that is the information I am looking for. The bolt torque is not the question.. It is the lbs. of pressure exerted on the belt.. Spring tension. I am not sure this spec. is in the Repair manual. I also thing that this newer tensioner has a different spec.. Appreciate any info.. thanks
