how do you (I) adjust the throtle postioning sensor to the right voltage for my 89 stock vette?????

The stock setting for an 89 corvette is .54 volts.

The optimum setting is .65 volts.

It is adjusted by loosing the 2 screws and twisting the sensor up or down until you obtain .65 volts (.65 will quicken the throttle response) do this with the key on and your back probing the dark blue TPS signal wire and adjusting it until you achieve .65 volts.

The easier way is with a scan tool so you can watch the voltage while you adjust the sensor.

I see where Mid America and others have a scan tool for this available for around $89.00...don't know if its worth it or how it works....but you can check it out..

Won't you see the voltage change with a digital volt meter??

On my 86, I used a Fluke digital multi meter (perks of being an electrician)and inserted the probes that had a fine point to them into the tps connector marked a and b, which I believe was the bottom two pins of the three pin connector. With the meter set to the dc voltage setting and the ignition on, check for the proper reading, mine was .54 +- .075. If yours is not in the range others have stated here, then slightly loosen the two screws holding the switch to the throttle body and rotate in which ever direction gets you there.
