Important! TPS Throttle Position Sensor

Important time and trouble saver. Always replace the throttle position sensor on 1996 LT1 with genuine AC Delco part. Other parts may not work properly and give check engine code. It took me 1 month and 3 TPS's to figure this out.
Might be the case with other aftermarket electronics too!

jad9943, Thanks for sharing your findings. I had to replace the TPS on my 1988 L98 and the aftermarket part from AZ worked perfectly. I'm finding many ACDelco parts are not made by ACDelco. Over the past summer, I've discovered many replacement parts like coolant sensors, fan switches, oil pressure switches, and fan relays are not even manufactured by ACDelco. Even the parts counter guy at my local Chevy dealership laughed when we opened 3 relay boxes, and each part came from a different country. Two had black cases, and one grey. Not one said USA like the original part.

ACDelco, today, doesn't manufacturer anything. It is a brand which purchases from suppliers all over the world.

Getting parts for the various vehicle electronics used on C4s will become a problem going forward because GM will eventually discontinue most of it and some of that "most" will be too costly or engineering intensive for the aftermarket to make.

An example? The lateral acceleration sensor used on all C4s with the later ABS/TCS system. They've been discontinued by GM for more than a year, so when that part goes out, all C4 owners can do, until some aftermarket company is willing to make the capital investment and accept the liability for reproducing a lat sensor, is either find NOS or used parts from wrecks.
