Well last night I made it to the track for the first time in my Vette. First run pulled a 14 flat, I was quite happy. I couldn't duplicate it but I came very close. Left it in auto for the best times, it shifts right a redline. I ran 25 lbs in the rear tires and man was it ever hooked. Had a great time until my son broke a cv in his Probe so we headed home early. Speed is addictive I think I need some AFR heads and a TPIS cam.

Fred,

sounds like you had fun. Don't forget the TPIS long tube headers.:D

I wouldn't mind getting to a track when I get something more powerful, ie. LT4.:D Of course, it won't stay stock for long.

Hey Edmond, you've never had your 88 to the track?

No, I don't even know where a track is around the Chicago area.:L

Yeah. No foolin'. Plus, ya get used to power, no matter how much, so dang quickly!
:w

Yeah, I just put headers on my vette a little over a month ago, and I am already looking at other mods to do. I am going to be screwed when it comes time to do major stuff, H/C/I and gears...:cry

Nah, it'll be worth it!

How far from the IL border are you?

It takes about two hours to get to Chicago I believe. So a little less then that obviously to just the state line. It is not to bad of a drive, depending on traffic.

I'm right at the intersection of I80 and I57, about 20 minutes south of Chicago.

When I get my LT4, I'll do some mods to it and then take that to a track.:D

Yeah I still need to get down to my local track, even though it is not a very good one, and make a couple of runs.

You don't have to wait to get a LT4. Take your 88 to the track, you will have a blast!

You're not too far from Joliet. There's a track there.
