I ran a new best! it was 58 degrees and 81% humidity but the track was biting like a mofo! all times on 20 psi goodyear F1 285/40/17 's.

i'll list the runs in order.

1st Run:
RT: -.059
60' 1.949
330 5.618
1/8 8.668
MPH 81.13
1000 11.294
1/4 13.517
MPH 101.77

this pass i was around 165 water temp when i staged. didn't spin at all but didn't fully stall out at 1500 rpm. overwound 2nd gear at 5300 rpm.

2nd Run:
RT: .180
60' 1.905
330 5.528
1/8 8.544
MPH 83.14
1000 11.166
1/4 13.384
MPH 101.97

still didn't get the stall right. water temp was at 120 degrees. i got a free run on this pass which screwed me up cause i thought the other guy was doing a burnout and i started to back up to do a dry launch to find my stall speed and i got waved to the line which threw off my concentration. overwound 2nd again at around 5200 rpm. 4900-5000 rpm is where i want to shift. if i leave it in drive even after adjusting the TV cable it only shifts between 4600-4800 rpm.

3rd Run:
RT: .155
60' 1.979
330 5.658
1/8 8.722
MPH 80.79
1000 11.349
1/4 13.588
MPH 99.48

this run totally sucked. i staged very shallow and was ready to get the stall right and the car pulled alittle but luckily i caught it but i was almost deepstaged and it threw me off on the stall speed as i didn't really have enough time to get it set. overwound 1st and 2nd at around 5300 rpm and lost 2 mph.

Current Mods:
Mostly stock all free mods K&N open air box, MAF descreened, TB Bypassed, 160* T-Stat, Accel Super Coil, 12* degree advance timing, new front Y pipe with no pre-cats, and No Mufflers. Hayden Tranny cooler. Stock 1600 rpm stall and a 2.59 rear gear.

when i seen the 13.3 timeslip i was jumping out of the car! i said it would run if i hooked up a 13.3-13.4 but i really thought the 13.3 was very optimistic. i think with some alittle more tuning and low humidity/cooler air temps she'll pull a low 13.2 @ 102 mph. my goal is break a 12 second pass with a stock TPI, stock Trans with stock stall on the 2.59 rear gear. for less than 200 bucks in mods this car is dipping in LS1 territory and the motor never been cracked open! :D

L98's :_rock

--So the GSC's are no longer on back, eh?

That's great! Just shows what high traction plus a lot of torque will do--low 60 ft. I guess they did a good prep.

What is shallow staging again? When you come really close to tripping the 2nd beam or are far from it? which is better?

Nice runs! Those are great times for the mods you've got! A rear end change would get you pretty close to the 12's

told ya that Cecil rules! it was worth the drive to run there huh? man was the track biting last night... it was VERY sticky for some reason. they usually dont prep it THAT well. i could only manage a 1.77 60ft, which didnt help my E/T any (having technical difficulties) and only managed a best of 13.2 at 103mph.

dude those times are simply amazing for the gears youre packing! i cant wait to see what you can do with a higher stall and a set of DRs. you still have quite a few boltons to do as well... the 12s are DEFINATELY in reach

let me know when you wanna go back down... ill be there again this coming Wed with my boy in his N2O 85' Trans Am

PS- boy did my girl spank that wuss in the Talon :L

yeah man that was alot of fun! that was funny he talked alot of chit and only ran a 14.8 :LOL your girl's LT1 Bird is a serious Bracket car! man it was dead on 13.65's all 3 passes :D i wasn't use to all the Bite and need to check my max stall speed next time. i just go off the motor noise and feel if the tires are breaking loose. definetly a 13.4-13.5 car on average now! with alittle cooler temps and lower humidity i think she can hit a 13.2 at 102 mph with a 1.8x 60' :D

Andy,

shallow staging is when you just barely trip the bottom light. if you just barely trip it and both are on (stage lights) then you will get your quickest ET's and MPH.

Yes i moved the F1's to the back but i think the GSC's could of pulled it as i have hit 1.94 60' times at capital. i will find out friday night when i go to capital and see how she runs and reacts :)

track prep

Guys,
The best prep is on Wed. and maybe Sat. morning at Cecil, right?
I don't see the point of going to often unless the prep is good. I could go today, but I like this idea of a track prep that bites...

yep, Wed and Sat mornings are youre best bet. they prep much better those days than Fri nights. theres to many ricers on Fridays anyway, its way crowded
