Can anyone tell me at what points can I attach tie down straps, front and rear, to trailer my corvette and where should it sit on the trailer for best handling of the trailer. I have a 24' dual axle trailer and have never trailered before.

Mac has trailered his '73 before If I recall. Junkie has likely done the same with his '78.

Perhaps they'll post. :thumb

I tied my '80 down on a U-haul. It had the wheel nets though.

I rarely tow one on a trailer unless I have 2 to pick up at 1 time, but depending the the Vehicle,I have special hooks that hook in different factory holes in the frame!(Same ones I use to tie cars solid to the stands and floor while straitening frames!) I also have a couple sets of long and short J-hooks, 2 / 5x20 in. nylon straps with 1/2 in. steel eyes in the ends, and 4 ratcheting nylon wheel straps!!:thumb
I use just whatever ones it takes to tie the car securely without damaging anything under the car!:thumb:thumb
Best thing for a C3 is wheel straps!!:thumb:thumb:thumb

Wheel nets on the tires is my prefered way followed by tieing through the wheels like in the picture above with the C3.

for real, it cuts way down on the jaring effect you get when you tie the frame

Yeah Well,I wanted to haul Steve's down low but set too close to the cab!!:ohnoes:ohnoesAnd when you have one up on mt truck, you better tie it by the frame otherwise it will dance in the wind and a shake you all over the road!!:ohnoes:ohnoes:ohnoes Really raises the Barr on pucker factor,Especially when your driving in snow and freezing rain!!!:ohnoes:ohnoes:ohnoes

I tie the 69 down in it's trailer with hooks into the frame- there are some good holes in the frame close to the rear crossmember, and then thru the front lower control arms. trailer is enclosed so wind is not a problem, but I don't want it dancing around in there either. I just cross the rear straps, tie the front down and then tighten the rear.

I believe one of the manuals (don't recall which) show using the front A-arms or someplace in the area to secure the car in front. Rear? I don't know.
Whenever I trailer a vehicle, I always centered it over the trailer's axle(s).
