tranny upgrade

Has anybody put an 89 6 speed tranny in an 85? I bought my 85 (with the 4+3) in August and have yet to get the O/D to work

Okay, I'm back. This looks like good stuff. I'll have to save some dollars for this one, but I think I'll be alot happier than trying to keep the 4+3 on the road.

more on the 4+3

I talked to the previous owner of my 85 and he was telling me about what he described as a condensation problem in the overdrive unit. He said the o/d fluid would frequently get "frothy" and then the o/d wouldn't work properly till he changed it again. He had the unit completely rebuilt and still had the problem.
Has anyone else had that type of problem?
