Transmission drain plug

Has anyone added a drain plug to the transmission pan? I am contemplating adding a drain plug or using a different pan with a plug, any experience with these options?

I think there are add on plugs available. If memory serves me right I installed one a number of yrs ago. I think it was set up with a nut on the inside to hold the body that the plug screwed into. If I were to do it again I would weld one in.

I've seen after market pans with drain plugs.

I have also seen people drill a hole and weld a nut to the inside of the pan.

Most parts stores carry the kits. I installed mine in the lower back of the pan so I wouldn't lose any ground clearance. Makes fluid changes much easier.
