Transmission problem

Help,

My car gives me the following code pc 1870, this happens after a day of driving in stop and go traffic, the transmission shift very hard from 1st to 2nd gear, after I clear the computer codes it is ok for about another 2 weeks until it happens again.

any suggestions, I know I have to take it to the dealership, However I would like to know if someone else has had this happen to them and how much was the damage $$$

Hi there,
As long as there is no aftermarket programming or different gear ratios then what came with the car, I will suggest a valve body.
This is due to the TCC boost valve sticking in the bore when the valve body gets hot.
It will be somewhat expensive, so be prepared.
About $750 here in the US.
