hey all I have a slight hiccup on my 77 vette.

I just had a 6 spd installed < came from a 93 camaro> and My speedo doesn't work now. Does anyone know of a fix for this?

do they make a cable that will work for the tranny or a round about way of doing a conversion?

I would like to keep the dash speedo but if I need to change it out what would need to be done?

The tach works fine so I use my gps device to get an Idea that at 1700 rpm's I am doing about 70-75 but I would realy like my speedo back again :)

any suggestions would be great thanks.

What does your installer say about it? Did the Camaro have an electronic speedo output, or a mechanical output for a cable?

:beer

the tranny has an electronic speedo output, the tech said something about it measures the speed from the breaking with magnectic impulses?

Hey Gnuu, I don't have an answer for your question. I am curious about your conversion. Is this a slave cylinder system? Did you need a new driveshaft made. This is something I want to do. Thanks for any feedback.

My understanding is that there is a aftermarket "kit" available that, via a tailhousing change/converson, you can connect a cable-driven speedo to a T56. The aftermarket T56es actually come that way but the OE T-56es (like that in a 93-02 F-car) had a VSS.

I can't remember where I saw this kit but, I was searching for a way to do the opposite (ie: convert the aftermarket, T-56's cable driven speedo to the OE-type electronic output) I found this on the Internet.

You start Goodling "T-56 six-speed" and you may find it.

yes its a slave cylinder system, and I did need a new drive shaft and a starter to make everything fit in,Also the 6 gears fit very tight in the center console , reverse far upper right is tricky at times> but al in all I am very happy with it.:upthumbs

will do some google research on the conversion kit. thanks for the help.
