I tried to take off my fuel filter inlet nut....that backs off easy. Unfortunately, where the gas line nut threads into the fuel filter inlet nut feels like it is welded on there.

I have used a flare nut wrench on the fuel line fitting so that I wouldn't round the nut off..but I can feel it definitely slipping under the strain. Granted, I only had a chance to have now let the nut soak in penetrating oil for a day or so...but if I can't get the darn thing off..what are my options???

With the very few brain cells I have remaining, I figured that putting the old torch to a gas line fitting probably wasn't a good thing....

You may want to try giving the wrench a "tap" with a hammer after you let it soak in penatrating oil. Sometimes a "shock" to the nut will break it loose. The only other option is cut the fuel line so it will rotate with the inlet nut that threads into the carb. But only as a last resort because you do'nt really want to destroy the factory hard line.

The gas line is probably rusted solid inside the sleeve nut going into the gas filter "cap".

Try some good penetrating oil such as Permatex penetrant (#62?) or PB rust blaster. Tapping (not whacking) the nut while in the gas filter cap is also a very good idea. The best thing is to get a small hammer and back the tubing up with a small piece of wood. Plan on spending 1/2 hour or so tapping. Don't rush it- it will come off eventually after the hammering gets the oil between the nut and tube. Mine was the same way.

Put a little never-seez on the tubing and slide the nut back over when you put it back together. It'll never seize up again.
