Anybody have any good tips, for sucessfully painting those tricky 1970 eggcrate side grills? And how about the stainless trim on the wiper cover?

thanks in advance.

Stainless trim on the wiper cover is easy.Scuff it with a scotchbrite pad, tape it out ,epoxy prime it and paint it,untape it while its wet.The side grills suck, get them stripped and prepped and buy some fineline tape to cover the chrome beads.Sit in the lazyboy watch the news and tape out the beads. Then same thing, epoxy prime and paint, untape while its wet.

Glen...Are you painting them same color as the car?? How about sending them away to get chromed?? Just a thought..I love the eggcrates..they look awesome. I was lkucky enough to be able to buy chromed small ones for my 79..they really are side fender louvers as i don't have the big eggcrates..Copefully you'll be coming to Caarlisle..might be able to pickup some ideas their as well.
