I have one and love it. Looks great. If I got any HP out of it that is a bonus! Guy

OK I got my triple pipe intake today. It looks good just sitting on the floor!

Thanks for updating us Bill. I figured it would add to the wow factor when first looked at under the hood. It looks wild just sitting on the floor like you said.

I don't know what the other guys would like to know about how much horsepower it really adds, but you drive YOUR car and regardless of anyones figures, YOU know if it FEELS stronger.

Feeling stronger is what will "blow up my skirt" (to quote tlong).

Supposedly, from looking at other posts, a different intake noise will come from the front of the car when the throttle is opened up. Let us know if you experience this too.

I didn't expect this thread to get as big as it did when I started it, but I'm glad it did. I live in a little ditchwater town
in West Virginia, and there sure as heck aren't many Corvette
owners around here to ask questions of.

Now I'm probably going to open up another can of worms, but
I've been thinking about Nitrous too. Redc4corvette, what do you think of the system made by Zex?

:w

you may be able to, but the big problem that i see is the intake height. L98's are taller than LT1/4 engines. Basically, I don't think it will reach that high

Thanks a lot. I was wondering why it wouldn't work. I guess you'd have to fabricate your own intake pipe. That might be something to think about.

Just so you know one of the form members has a picture of his claw here some ware.He ground off the black coating and polished the stainless to a real high gloss it look s good. When you shut your engine down the claw will make a big sucking sound.
It sure does weigh a ton.
The Zex kit from what I have heard is good for the vet owner that just wants a little more power and is not interested in getting the full potential out of nitrous.
The bottle can be full or low and it adjusts to the presure with the controler.
I like to play around to see if I can break things so I have the NX kit my L98,
100 to 300 shot.
On my Lt1 I use the barry grant system it is easier to use than the NX.
I have found with the same and all things being equal the Barry Grant system performs better.
The BG tech department sucks and I have heard ZEX has a very good tech department.
NX just gives out bogas info most of the time but they try,you always have to ask if the tech is using the unit on their vhl and go from there.

You just gotta' love Redc4corvette's attitude......." I like to play around to see if I can break things ". Unless I hear something really negative from Bill I'm going to get the "claw".

I figure from what I've read here that the "claw" and muffler eliminators should give me a little more "seat of the pants"
impression. When that wears off (and I have a little more cash),
I'll go for the Zex nitrous. I'm still undecided about one of those throttle body airfoil things though.

It's sure nice to hear from people that have really used these products instead of hearing from someone who heard from a friend, who knows a guy, whose brother-in-law's neighbor tried something like this. Thanks.:CAC

OK, I was going to wait for a little more seat time for my initial opinion but you forced me into it.
We went out last evening to run some errands (commute time) lots of traffic so no high speed stuff. We did get one short WOT in second gear wile maneuvering in traffic, the car felt pretty peppy ( what 370 rwhp 410 geared zr-1 doesn’t) . I did not notice any increase in intake noise. We had a 2 mile run on the freeway, hit 90 in a heart beat (normal). We only drove about 10 to 15 miles most of it stop and go, so I still don’t have a complete evaluation. As a side note it has opened up the area in front of the radiator so it might allow better cooling. The polished one that redc4corvette talked about sounds cool, the black looks pretty darn good. Did not notice the sucking sound on shut down. I like the look much better than stock.
