H Ithere,
Yes, there is a preliminary document in the GM database for the sticking clutch pedal concern.
If your dealership contacts technical assistance, giving the condition, they will obtain the information needed to repair the condition correctly, with no reoccurance.
It is NOT in TSB form yet, so I cannot release any information other than this.

I wanted to know if you found out anything on the sticking clutch pedal. This has happened to me several times.

Thanks,

Chuck

I wanted to know what the Chevrolet garage did to correct the problem.

Thanks,

Chuck

based on the discussion above it should be pbvious that GM would prefer the matter to not be discussed publicly until such time that a TSB is released. I don't always agree with GM's philosophies or decisions, but do respect them enough to honor their wishes regarding these issues.

HI Hotmotorsports,
First, if you contact your dealership, and give them the symptoms, if they are versed in Corvette, then they will know how to proceed to serve you correctly, and effectively.
There is, in the GM service database, a preliminary document number, which, when they call technical assistance, they will obtain the information needed to repair your vehicle, correctly, the first time out.
I can tell you from first hand experience, if GM instructions are followed, you will NOT have a reoccurance of the issue.
You are not being stonewalled, it is just that the information given to service technicians is sometimes not interpretted correctly by others. I thank you for understanding the circumstances of this particular post.
01MYZO6, thank you for your respectful courtesy in this post, as I do appreciate it very much.

now if we could get them to offer an OE fix to the lower front control arm bushing issue :)

sorry, just couldn't resist

I guess I don't understand. I'm just tired of getting charged $300 to $400 from the dealer without being informed about the process. Knowing the proceedures would have kept them in check. I just figured this is why they call it a forum.

Wasn't trying to be discourteous or force anybody to let out any secrets.

c4c5, you are very knowledgeable and helpful and we all thank you.... I'll keep digging.

Sticking Clutch

Well, I for one am at the end of my rope. About 3 weeks ago my '01 clutch went to the floor and locked in place. Not even Arnold S could have moved that clutch. After about 5 minutes it popped back up on it's own and I drove the car home. I have a very weak clutch now. Only about 1/4" of engagement stroke at the bottom of the floorboards.

After 3 dealerships over 2 weeks in the houston area, I still have a weak clutch. No one seems to be knowledgeable nor interested in fixing the problem. I keep getting this "we gave you a perfectly good car and you went out and broke it and now you want me to fix it for free" attitude.

I have to lightly pump the pedal everytime to get any pressure built behind the clutch pedal so I can shift. I say it's either my slave is shot or I boiled off enough gas in the DOT3 fluid to have "air" in the line. It's a real bear to bleed this slave cylinder since the "brains" at GM located the bleeder behind the torque tube. Yeehah!

Even though the car is under full warranty I no longer believe anyone representing GM knows anything about the Corvette (this is my 3rd vette and I race and work on them as well). Therefore, I have now armed myself with my Helms manuals and am seeking some input from other Corvetters before I strip out the clutch, slave cylinder, pressure plate and throwout bearing and replace with a 2002 Z06 setup - on my on nickle! Hate to admit to paying a lot of bucks for a warranty that doesn't appear to be worth the paper it was printed on either.

Any suggestions?

Wow. That's a shame you have to got through this jeanlucpicard. It's exactly what I'm afraid of happening to me. According to the earlier discussion, any possible cures are a secret.

Now, I'm not downing anybody!!!

I have learned to be very careful what to write because someone will put a spin on a comment that makes the innocent author just asking a simple question say to himself "What just happend here?". Some things are not so obvious as they seem to one person and the slightest slip in a description sends another reeling in to make sure it's spelled out to the world you didn't know something.

I'm going to talk to someone at a Chevy dealership about this, then I'll blab my heart out on what I find out!
