Well gang, I have 3 Vettes in the garage/driveway now. I've never had that problem before.

I bought my first Corvette back after letting it get a way from me 2 years ago. Now I have to decide what to do with it - keep it and sell one of the others or sell it again!!!! Decisions, decisions!!! I wish I could keep them all but I ain't got the room or money to do that.

The Tuna Sport is a 1992 coupe I bought new in 1991. It has the LT4+ upgrade, reverse Grand Sport paint (white w/radar blue stripe), chrome ZR1 wheels, and CORSA.

I'd forgotten how much different the C4 is compared to the C5 or C6 and it's dramatic. Time to drive it and get used to it again and have some fun before I have to make up my mind what to do.

My suggestion is to enlarge the garage, or put in a lift, and keep all three while you look for a 4th; never can have too many corvettes. I have two and my wife knows that I keep looking for a 3rd. I really believe she would let me buy a third one, but I don't press it. She occasionally asks me to show her the pics of the cars I have found interesting on the internet. Of course they are all red, 6 speeds. I too wish I could afford more vettes. My wife said that if we win the lottery, she will build me a corvette garage. I would have to get advice from 67 Heaven if that ever occurred; problem is we don't buy the tickets. Try to hang on to the three corvettes as long as possible, but at least keep two.

I always thought that your 92 was a sharp car. How did it happen that you got it back?

How did I get it back?

I've sold 3 Corvettes to guys at work since 1999. I work for the FAA at the national field offices and campus in OKC.

My ex '96 CE LT4 Z51 car is still owned by they same guy and his son now drives.
My wife's ex '03 AE vert is owned by my cube neighboor.

The Tuna Sport was bought and then sold to another FAA guy. That guy took it to North Carolina but he stayed in touch with me telling me stories about it and how it did in shows, etc. I told him if he ever wanted to sell it to give me first chance. I've told the other two guys the same thing as they are all great cars.

Well the NC guy decided to upgrade to a C5 and bought an '04 Z06 CE and made me and offer. He even drove the car back to me. So, it's mine again. :)

The big problem is my wife is now looking at new houses with 4 or more car garages or out buildings. Buying the '92 back is probably going to kill me financially! ;help ;shrug :bash

I've told people in the past that same thing, but I've never had one get back to me.....that's a cool deal for you. I hope that you can make things work out. Houses can put a financial strain on you, so if you have to sell one maybe you'll get a chance to buy it back again.

Congrats! :beer
Post some pics so we can get reaquainted. ;)

I've got to wash it first then I'll take some new pictures.

Great looking Car

I saw the Tuna today when I was searching for some part for my white 95. It will get painted when I get a few things done around the house. I've been thinking if it is white - I could do that but after seeing your car and it is so close to what I have wondered if mine could look like...... Did you do the paint work or do you know if the diamond went in the white or in the clear and who made the paint? The sparkle might just be worth hiring the paint out! - Also were the jambs sprayed with the diamond as well?

Next - what color is the interior? I am still unsure about red/black interior (the color in my car) in a white / blue car. It might look good or might have Betsy Ross spinning.

Anyway - great looking C4!

And thanks for the info!

Jeff

Okay Tuna, when looking at houses, always buy the garages first. Go for a four or five car garage with a house attached. One bedroom is enought. But don't forget the kitchen. You won't be eating out a lot.

Alas, the old Tuna Sport is no more. A few months after buying it back, we gave it to our son and he managed to wreck it a few months later.

I don't do paint. A local paint shop did the painting. As I recall, they mixed White Diamond with Artic White and repainted the whole car with the sparkle mix paint, door jams, rear window areas, etc. Then they masked off the stripe areas and painted that '98 Pace Car purple. The hash marks were Torch Red, so everything was paint on the last version of the old Tuna Sport.

The interior on the old car was black.

Besides wanting the LS7 engine, the new Tuna Sport has the white and stripe package my wife and I loved on the original Tuna Sport. She thought we ought to get one. We did.

Back in 2008 when we had 3 Vettes, we did look for garages with a house attached. Then the market tanked and we stayed put and gave away one of the Vettes.
Now that both of us are retired, the likelihood of owning "too many" cars is pretty slim.

So, our 3-car garage has 1 Vette, 1 VWagon and 1 ATS and it will probably stay that way a long time.
