you want my honest opinion Tepot? You have a '74 L-82 4 speed, in a very desireable color. You have a pretty special car to begin with, don't cheapen it up by installing a crappy aftermarket hood. but it's your car, so do with it what makes you happy.

just my 0.02 worth ($2.85 adjusted for fuel inflation)

Not cool. Dude you are welcome to express your opinion on CAC, just as I am now... You don't like it... fine. Tell us that you really don't think this hood does the car justice, but to each his own.

You are going over the line.. calling it crappy, gay and the like. Just please try to be (I hate to use the term, but...) PC here and treat people with a little respect. We value your opinion, but not when you come off with a belittling attitude.

Oh my god, I didnt know this tread would've cause so much trouble. Thanks for all the feedback. I've been looking at all the pictures. I like how the hood looks on some cars, specially on that yellow vette cj5nutz pointed on www.vanacorvette.com and I'm glad that you guy's found me pictures. I'm not a fan of those greenwood cars myself but if some guy's like them. It's fine with me. It's their car not mine.

I studied all the pictures and I think I'm gonna keep my original hood. The difference in look is not big enouph for me to change it. Besides, I love the way my car looks now. So like they say, If it's not broke, don't fix it.

Thanks,

It's not cool to tell him that he has a car that is special and that my opinion is to not put a hood on it that I think is crappy? It's disrespectful to tell him that his car is a desireable car and that putting what I think is a crappy hood on it will cheapen it? I called the hood crappy, definately not the car. I'm entitled to my opinion, and don't have to be PC when expressing it.

The facts:
1. The guy has a cool, well optioned car
2. Personally, I think those hoods suck
3. I expressed that putting a hood which in my opinion sucks on his cool car is a bad idea.
4. We have the right to not like a product, and express that.

If I came on here and said "gee guys, I've really be toying with the idea of converting my 30,000 original mile big block 4 speed car to a 4.3L v-6 with an automatic so I can get better gas mileage" I'd sure hope you'd all call me a retard.

Opinions are like A**holes...

Edited: Bud Dougherty Administrator!...... Generally speaking, these forums are constructed for people looking for help and comraderie. Although you certainly are entitled to your opinion, why not keep negative criticisms to yourself? They do no good whatsoever, and insult those whose opinions differ from yours. Do you walk up to owners at a car show and tell them how much you hate their car? I would hope not. The fact that you hide anonymously behind your log-in alias should not give you freedom from etiquette. I'm sure you've heard the phrase, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." Calling twin turbo hoods "gay" is like me saying, "Anyone who puts a 5-speed tranny in a '73 big block car is a retard." Of course, I'd never say anything like that, but I'd certainly think it. There is a difference. It's called "tact". I suggest you look that up before you put your 5-speed mouth (and keyboard) in gear.

Well...I like the twin turbo hood, and would really like to get one too. There're on Ebay sometimes, but get too expensive. Vanacor's is about an hour or so from my house, so I'll drive there one day and pick one up.

first of all, I was expressing my opinion, if you don't like it, then don't read my posts. my opinion is that twin turbo hoods suck. my opinion is also that greenwood corvettes suck. I didn't put the 5 speed in my car, the previous owner did. the original 4 speed is next to it, in my garage, so don't worry about it. You can take your suggestions of looking up words in the dictionary, and put them in the back of your station wagon corvette. I hide behind nothing. You want to discuss it further, feel free to give me a call anytime. my suggestion to you would be to shut your punk mouth, and mind your own business.

there's a difference Mr Tact between expressing your opinion, and your post, which was severely edited by the moderator due to childish name calling. The unedited version showed up in my email, and is a far cry from what we see here. Very mature, and tactful.

Thread is closed. Tepot got what he wanted out of it and this ongoing bickering is adding nothing.

Chad, I don't know what Sharkwood said due to the editing but your ongoing disagreement with everyone is not the kind of discourse we try to promote on this site.

goertz,

Your decision to ignore CAC Staff "General Advice" and continue to incite personal attacks to "Defend your OPINION" has warranted a 3 Day Ban. Comments such as this
