I recently had to change my oil pressure sensor as it was reading ZERO. I'm now sensitive as to watching the guage: What are the average pressure readings at Idle and full throttle for everyone? Mines a stock 86 with a 4+3.

Thanks!

I've got a bone-stock (heads never off, etc.) L98 in an '87 (100K miles) and I get in the middle/high 50's under acceleration and cruise, and it drops to the high 30's at idle.

I'm using Mobil One 5W30 and it eats about 1/2 quart between changes (3000 miles), most of which I believe is going past the valve stem seals.

Gotta love those SBCs.

At cold start-up I'm about 61 lbs., 1800-2000 on the highway I'm around 45-50. Warm idle about 43-45.

Car has 104,550 miles and doesn't use any oil between 3000 mile changes.. They don't come any better. L98 stock.

I usually ran in the 38 PSI range. 102K miles.

My 86 Pace car runs about 80# at idle when cold using Mobil 1 oil and when it gets hot the pressure drops to around 50# when at an idle.... My 87 the oil pressure is about 55# all the time....
