u joints on half shaft

Note that I was referring to the half shafts only, not the main drive shaft.

I understood. I wasn't clear in my response. I was applying what I had learned about drive shafts to half shafts.

For the driveshaft yes, you could do that. For the half shafts the answer is no, because they form the upper link of the rear suspension.

I makes it easier to jack the car up for the drive shaft as well. I put the car in neutral and rotated the tires so that I could get a ratchet on each drive shaft bolt.

So Crause did you remove you half shafts yet? I am doing mine this evening and then having the shop replace the u-joints. Let me know if you had any problems. This seems like a stright forward job to me but if anyone has any experience and any secerts I should know about before I start unbolting things please let me know.
