Man...I did it Now.!! I bought the 502 BB Motor. My friend Bill and his Friend BB Motor freak Mike Talked me into it. Bill and Mike are adding the flywheel and short oil pan and pump pick up now. So I got no choice but to do the deed.

And Rob English of "Resoration Connection" gave me the Final case of the "While I'm At it's"..!! He says...............While your at it.. you might as well strip the frame and send it out to be blasted and ..Heh..I'll paint it up real pretty. And "While were at it"..We can change out all the break lines to Stainless Steel....And "While were at It" ..Blah..Blah...Blah.

Here's some picks of the Motor as it sits today at the GMPP dealer. Got to drive down and pick it up next week. If I could I'd let it sit in my living room untill it's ready to drop in. But...I can't figure how to get it thru the front door.

Yeah..I know the feeling.. It's like the food chain. There are guys out their with bigger and stronger 502 Motor's then mine. I'm just at the botton of the 502 food chain..

It's like the old west....There's always a faster Gunslinger. Check out Richescorvettes 502 killer or 67Heavens 502 Axel Twister...Now those are some crazzy guys...:L

Mark if its the Bill and Mike show out of the lower eastern VA area then yes those two are very good at spending others money. hahahahaha.. But hey I don't think that you could find to better people to help you spend it..Congrats man.... Dave...

geez, even the bottom of the 502 food chain would eat my SB up for breakfast and spit it out for lunch!!

Mark,

Congrats again on the new purchase, Barry, there is even a food chain with the BB's and I am on the lower rung.

Although I did find a tripower setup and factory aluminum heads that someone wants to sell this weekend :D

Congrats again,

Tom

Mark, I wouldn't even think about trying to run against you, but I'd love to just go cruising together sometime..
I'd probably hear your 502 even over the sound of my sidepipes and it would be great to see everyones reactions as we cruise by in the cars.

Mark, Bill just happen to take a likin to me and has been a very big help to me since I got my 66 last year. He introduced me to Mike and that's how the story goes... Definate wealth of information between the two of em.. Plus Mike has access to the ultimate garage with all the goodies.. It's almost like being in a TOYSRUS for adults.....Dave

Yeah... Bill Is a Great Guy and has a ton of know how... Ad Mike is the Ultimate BB Kid...Bill has been guiding me thru the world of BS. Right now I'm caught up in the Side pipe Size thing.. Very Frustrating..Some say keep the 2 1/2 inch(1 7/8) internal for high speed flow up to 5500 and some say Nahhhhh 2 1/2 internal..go for the a Allen's... :confused Man ....battel of the sidepipes....

When I'm Ready..Well...ROCK..:_rock

I thought sometime ago Bill and I had this conversation via email I'll see if I can dig it up later on my flight..(7 1/2 hours just to London).... Haven't some gone with a 3" pipe to alleviate any flow restrictions and they fit under the stock side pipe covers... I have a guy down here doing the same swap sort of.. He started with a BB car that had a 454 in it but has now put the 502 in it.. He's working slow at it but it's comming along.. He doesn't do his own work and is in no hurry. I know that he ended up going with a March pulley setup along with their A/C compressor.... Dave..

Mark best of luck.

Paragon reproductions has some nice heavey duty third memeber yolks with bolted caps,I know your not into factory correct So I would think a scattersheild is in order here.Summit racing still has them. There used to be a fellow on this site 66427450 (Ithink) and in a conversation with him one day he was explaining he had found some real heavy duty half shafts

There was a guy at carlilse this year selling reproduction one peice fan scrouds for the big blocks I see if I can find his phone number.

What parts do you still have to find?

Mark,

Welcome to the dark side...... :cool

Some day we'll have to coordinate a same-time open-header fire-up between NJ, CT and Ontario. Maybe we can set off a minor earthquake. :L

Be listening at around 1:00pm Eastern next Saturday. ;)
