how do you un-program a key fob? I bought a new fob and while I was programming both of mine, I had a friend walk up to car with his in his pocket, now his is programed to his and my car. I tried to reprogram mine while he was not near car, but his still works..

You have to re-programm your fob to un-program it. That goes for your friend
to.

I'd move the fobs at least 30 ft. from the car before you start. I assume you have the programming info?

Start over and reprogram both of yours. After you do this, his should no longer work. Guy

tried it

I reprogrammed mine and also his, his still opens my car. I dont have the video but the instructions with the fobs tells how to program them.

You can program up to three fob's for the same car. He will have to reprogram his for/to his own car.

I knew about the three fobs, I reprogramed his to his car and it still retained my car program. I have also reprogramed mine like three times, his still works.

Just a guess. Maybe his is programmed as your third fob and you are only reprograming two. Try programming one of yours twice, as if you had three.

If that does not work is it possible the two fobs are the same? If so one of yours should open his car.

took three

took me three more times of reprograming two fobs, one of them twice to simulate a third fob, but it finally worked. Car did not want to drop his fob for some reason. thanks all....

Wow, what a mess :eek

Glad to see you got it sorted out!

(hope the keys are different)

deprograming a key fob

Glad you got it working.

I think we learned, if you have 2 or 3 fobs programmed, and you want to remove one, you must reprogram one of the remaining fobs twice.

WOW, who a thunk it! Even a blind squril finds a nut sometimes.
