I was wondering did GM paint the under side of the body the color of the car, my car is white, the under side has been spayed with under coating, i got everything taken off and where there could get to because of parts its white, looks like just a mist of white, should i paint it all back white, also, is there any undercoating/soud deadner i can spray on to cut down the noise.
going to be a pain to remove the undercoating from the frame , but i want it all off so i can paint it,as i think it will look much better painted.

The underbody wasn't painted at all, only got some color overspray; the wheel wells were blacked-out after color, but the horizontal portions of the underbody got no paint of any kind.

Check the Corvette parts houses for sound deadening and insulation packages that go under the carpet. Out of sight and won't be a turn off to a future purchaser that may want it origional. If you want to go with a spray on product I read a report on a new product that you spray on the interior panels with the interior parts out. It is only about 1/8" thick and is very effective. I'll have to look it up when I get home.

whats this?

i am in the process of putting new insulation under my carpet and ran into something strange. Under the passengers seat there looks like some kind of access door that is sealed with a redish bondo looking stuff. Is this factory or has something been done under here? It looks ok and there doesn't seem to be anything that it is trying to conceal. :confused

no access door .............repair job would be my guess

well i been cleaning the under side of this car for 2 weeks now on and off, when it gets warn enough i push it out and pressure wash it, the guy before me sprayed under coating on everything he could, even the underbody, guess i will go ahead and under coat the body since iam afraid to use stripper to remove it, but the frame gets striped and sanded and repainted, alot of work but will nice nice once its done.
