I have a 1996 LT-1. Under the hood the black paint has a few chips especially around the wheel wells, and the exterior color (torch red) shows thru these. What type of black paint is recommended for painting under the hood.

Thanks for any suggestions.

jcbank-
Your local Chevy dealership/autoplex should have the paint you need sitting right there on the shelf at the body shop.

Wait a sec...
You said the paint shows through?! Does your hood and wheel wells have liners?

Thanks for the input.

Yes the red paint shows through. It's like the whole thing was painted red and then it was painted black on the underside of the hood and there are a few chips in the black. Are you thoroughly confused now?.....

I'll check with a dealer and see what they recommend also....

I see what you're saying now... It's not on the liners....it's at other sections on the underside of the hood...including the edge of the liners.....
