Well, I spent a few hours tonight roughing out the driver's side of the front end, but most of the time was spent trying to get the parts to detach from each other (because ultimately, the car will have to be taken apart to be painted). Long story short, I messed up a lot of what I had been sculpting (notice the dents in the door) and tearing up my old Testors Viper GTS model to get the wheels off of it. I'm not sure if I like the Viper wheels on the car, but they are wider and larger than the unusually narrow Z28 wheels that came on the car. (Yes, those ARE toothpicks as axles right now). :eyerole

I decided it would be cool if I showed a pic of a real C8 at about the same angle as the pic I took of the model but... Johnny's C8 is making my model look like a piece of crap :L.

It definitely helped me figure out what the heck I've done wrong though... fin's too large... headlights are messed up... vents are too small... :ugh

Yeah, this clay doesn't air dry, so I'm working with it still soft. I don't want to harden it before I make sure I've sculpted it to be as accurate as possible... which is obviously not the case yet :L

It is a lot harder to work with dried Sculpey than soft -- especially since when I harden it, it will not be fully cured (because that would damage the plastic) so if I worked on it after hardening, it would flake off.

The camera and that lighting sure did make it look bad... it looks a lot better in person (but maybe I'm just nearsighted).
