Hi guys,

Today I was fitting the rear flares on my '78. They look great and my original rims look very thin. But in two weeks I'll be getting my 18" rims with adaptors to fill the flares. My wife's '77 is at the bodyshop waiting to be painted and it also has the flares.

After two years of hard work I finally got my restauration (frame off)project almost done. I've painted my engine including the manifold, intake, and alternator in a nice medium darkblue color. It looks like the blue devil engine GM is planing to use on the C6.
I'm still waiting for some parts to fire up my engine. Can't wait for the Dynomax headers and the Patriot sidepipes from Summit.

I have to finish the car before the beginning of June as I'm moving to the Netherlands(Europe) with my family and the two vettes.
I'll let you know when my webside is ready so you can see all my work on the
'78.

I'll keep you posted,

C'ya

I'm using the same fender flares 69myway used on killer. I bought it from Mid America. I bought them for my wife's '77 then I got the idea to make a copy for my '78 and the result was great. I saved $ 600.00 on my car.

Thanks

What type of work/business is taking u & ur's 2 the Netherlands?
O.K. here's the story,

I live on a small Island called Curacao it's in the Caribbean near the coast of Venezuela. This Island is still part of The Netherlands.
I was born here and I lived and went to college for eight years in the Netherlands and came back to my country in 1999.

Here is where I met my wife who's Dutch(from the Netherlands). She has now almost 15 years on this Island adn we own a business called Standox Distribution. You can find more abuot this on the worldweb site www.standox.com We sell carpaint and non paint stuffs. Now after owning a good business for 5 years, we sold it and we bought a toyshop in the Netherlands that has a good reputation and also has 104 years of excistance.
So this is the story.

Isn't standox what Exoto uses on their diecast, can it be reasonably purchased to paint a Vette. Those colors are awsome.

That's what crossed my mind too, Craig.

Yes those colors are used on some diecast models and they represent the exclusive line of STANDOX carpaint. Actually I'm painting my wife's '77 and my '78 with two of these exclussive line. Some of those colors cost like $800,= for a 1/4 gallon.
Standox is used in the factory of Porshe, BMW and some other exlusive cars. It is known as a high standard carpaint. Also another interesting fact is that Dupont bought the factory of standox in Germany.

If there is more question let me know,

Hi Don,

Great you,ve been nearby. Curacao is also great for scuba diving. There are more than 20 scuba shops where you can go to. People on Bonaire are known to be compared to the rest of the Dutch Antillean Islands the most friendly of all.
People on Curacao aren't the worst and where can you call save. You my not be save in your own home for instance. You just don't have to visit the getto during the nights and you will be save. Curacao is the biggest Island compared to Aruba and Bonaire and you will find better nightlife here and alot of shops, restaurants and lot more. I hope you will visit someday

Be sure to let me know before you visit so maybe we can get in touch.(I'll have to travel from my new home in Europe to meet you on Curacao!!).

Regards,

Ryan
