I have always been uneasy about using ebay and never really look for a vette there, well my cousin just bought a 1968 camaro and the whole process went without a problem, so now I'am not so uneasy about it, but I don't really understand how to use it ;help (well more specificly the biding process and how to locate a car in a closer region to me) I just need someone to show me where to find this info on those two topics, It would really would help me a lot.

When You Pull Up Corvette @ Ebay Motors ,you Will Get All The Corvettes Listed For Sale , Beside The "search" There Is As A Place Called "advanced Search" Hit This , That Will Let You Put In Your Prefences , ( Distance From Your Zip Code & Etc ) It Works Great For Finding Something Close To Home , Denny

thanks wieser:upthumbs

now what about vettehound.com (I've never used it) would this be good for local searches too?

I bought my C5 from Ebay although it never reached reserve the seller called me and told me I could have it for the price I offered him when I went to look at it. It was located about 200 miles away. Now with @20000 miles since I bought it last August the only thing I have had to fix was the headlight switch . I paid for an inspection and the owner took the car in to pep boys and I also did the carfax thing.
Don't be afraid to ask forum members to look at it for you.
Good Luck

What are you lookin for? where in NY are you I am in Rockland county about 40 minutes north of NYC

Ebay is an excellent place to purchase from BUT you have to have a good understanding of how it works. feed back making sure the person selling the car has good feed back

But you also have to understand not all folks are truthfull in there listings. Some folks are also not knowlegeable and think they are speaking the truth but have no facts.

I purchased only one vechicle sight un seen on ebay but it was from a seller who had no less then 100 pictures of the vechicle that showed everthing I needed to see. You have to be a Philadephia lawyer though and make sure you asked questions to the seller .

How many miles are on the car.

what documentation do you have to substaineate the milage can you email that to me.

Looking at the front right fender is there any dents, scratches, or problems.? then you have to move around the entire car the same way. What you dont ask they dont tell you and when your purchasing it from a description and only a few picture this is how you get into trouble. the worst thing is for a seller to say "hey if you would have asked me I would have told you ,didnt you see it in the pictures I had with the advertizement.

its hard enough to purchase a used car in person no less then trying to get it sight un seen.

I guess what I am thinking is if your asking this question,You might be better served not purchaseing a car online.

My Dad is such a trusting guy he should never purchase any thing on ebay

Good luck If I can help let me know

I bought my first vette off of ebay. I called up the place and asked a few questions, bought it below the reserve, flew out and drove it home. Had a blast!

I'm looking for an early c5, miles don't matter, just looking for a car that is driveable and has somewhat decent paint, I really want a vette that I can work on a little bit, but is not horrible looking.

IH2LOSE- I'am in dutchess county

that was me a year ago, except it had to be a 6-speed any color except black; It took about 2 weeks for me, but that was last year when the C6's were just hitting the showrooms and C5 prices were low. What are they going for now?

good luck in your search.

;help what is a good freedback % on ebay

I wouldn't deal with anybody with less than a 98% positive feedback.

You don't need to even bid on the car , alot of the guys selling have a phone #, just call and maybe make a deal over the phone. I have done this with my 99 vette and 97 mustang. Worked great.:D

If I make a bid on a car and win the bid, am I obligate to purchase the car or can I still refuse to buy the car?

If you work it out with the seller and use an escrow account you might be able to back out, BUT be sure to work the details out with the seller BEFORE bidding.
