I was hoping that would possibly use some of the old gm concepts from the 50s and 60s. Cars are becomeing way too round these days. i would hate for a corvette to look like a rounded off ball. The maaco shark corvette would make a perfect c6 only you would need to completely rethinl the interior and drop in a nice big 454!

Just my take,
Andy

I think they use round because of the aerodynamics. If there are two cars, everything equal besides the aerodynamics; the car with the better aerodynamics would perform better due to less wind resistance.

IMO, going too retro would just be a short lived gimmick like the Thunderbird.

As for using old concepts....I would hope that GM comes up with some original RPO's instead of rehashing past history. For instance....

1963:
Z06 option offered. Heavy duty suspension upgrade.

1970-72:
LT-1 engine offerred.

1971:
ZR1/ZR2 racing package offered. The ZR1 was offered with the LT-1 engine, the ZR2 was offered with the BB LS-6. (Of course we all know the 1990-1995 ZR1's. The ZR2's of that era was to be a convertible with the LT-5 engine but never became a reality)

I would like to see new RPO engine/tranny/suspension's instead of re-using old numbers in new ways. If you told someone that you had a rare '71 LT-1 with the ZR1 option, they may question what you are talking about, thinking that the only ZR1's were the King of the Hill's produced by Mercury Marine from '90 to '95.

Just my observation and opinion.

I believe the new production car developments such as under carriage aerodynamics will allow for more unique (read as not round! ) body styles..

I am sure the new C6 will be quite impressive looking.

SlowRide,

I guess they associate Z06, LT1 with performance. Maybe that's why they come out like that? But it's a Chevy thing all the way around: Z28, ZR2 (trucks), Z34, etc...

Funny, that you would mention folks looking at you funny when you say you have a rare LT-1!
Folks look at me really funny and tell me it's not possible, that Chevrolet never produced any Z06's until 2001! I tell them wrong, my 1963 is the only TRUE Z06!
