I resently put a new fuel filter in and when putting everything back I left a vaccum hose unconnected, and the check engine light came on.. After tracing back I hook it up and she ran fine but now I cant get the light out.
Is it just bad luck it happened or is it related to the vaccum hose??
I need to take it for emission testing and I cant with the light on...
Anyone?

thanks

Well, I'm no expert on the computer cars, but I think if you disconnect the battery (just pull off the ground wire) for a minute and reconnect that it will reset. Worth a try...

A quick fix may be to disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes or so. That will allow the computer to reset itself once powered back up.

If that doesn't resolve the Check Engine Light, then you can remove the ashtray and check for codes to see what code it is throwing. If it gets to this step, then there are a several great posts here about how to check for codes, if you get to this point we can help revive those old posts to help ;)

Good Luck

Bud
