Vacuum hose - inner diameter

I bought a new EFE switch, goes right on top of the tstat, and I went out to get new vacuum hoses for it, but the 7/32" inner diameter seemed a little too loose around the male end of the switch. Anybody have any ideas of what the standard inner diameter of these vacuum sources require? Can't seem to find anything but 7/32" around here.

Maybe try NAPA? They usually have a good variety of sizes on their reels. Perhaps Carquest. I'm not sure what's available for parts outlets in your area. If 7/32" is too "fat", perhaps 3/16"?

Personally, myself, I would disconnect all of it and plug off the carb fittings, leaving only PCV and vacuum advance to the distributor. My opinion only.

Actually, I don't even know what this EFE system does. I figured it was part of emissions. Don't get me wrong, I would be the first person to rid myself of the burden we call emissions, but I still have to pass the exaust test.

Test tricks

If you don't have to pass a visual, a fresh oil change and PCV valve will usually do the trick. A fresh tune-up is always good, too, if enough miles are on the plugs, cap, rotor, wires, etc. And, you already have a cat converter, right? And, if you do have to pass the visual, uh, well, a few meaningfully placed b-b's in assorted emission vacuum lines will do the trick, too. Ooops-did I say that?

If all else fails, run it really low on gas and add a bunch of "Heet" to it. This last is really not recommended but that's how my buddy got his Jeep Wagoneer POS to pass.

Really, I hope I don't offend any "greenies" out there. I recycle. I ride motorcycles a lot, too. But all of my cars are V-8's. Every darn one of them.
