Anyone know the value of a strong running 70 LT-1 motor?

My truck has one and I'm planning to switch to a LT1 motor and get the bennefits of fuel injection which work well with my plans of building up a daily driver out of my 68 C10.

The Lt-1 motor was transplanted into my truck by a previous owner. Where can I find details on the engine casting numbers, head numbers, intake, carb, etc so that I can get the exact details of it?

Post the numbers off of the stamp pad (machine surface on the block in front of the passanger side head) and we should be able to determin what the engine was originaly. Should be two numbers there. One would look like F9999AAA and the other like 19S499999.

Ok, I need to move my alternator. Ill try to do that tonight. Thanks for the help.

Well Is this right right place to be looking? I see a real clear 70 but the rest is pretty worn down. I wonder it the block was decked at one time?
