Valve Cover Breather!

I noticed that the 94-96 LT-1 engines have valve cover breathers, the reason I bring this up, is that my oil fill cap on my LPE valve covers keeps leaking, dont matter what i do, Teflon tape, rubber gasket, whatever, it still seeps out,Can I use a aftermarket breather, like K&N etc, or will it hinder the vacuum, Thanx

Gee, I hadn't noticed this had received no replies since you first posted it. Maybe this resurfacing of the question will stir some response. I don't have an answer for you; I run a separate breather tank for my crankcase ventilation, and don't know the effects it would have on a stock LT-1.

I have a 96 CE Vert with LT1 Auto and it doesn't have a valve cover breather (just a standard cover with a Mobil 1 Recommendation), although I've been thinking of putting one on.

Hey Big Boy, does your 96 valve cover (oil fill side)have a screw in cap or a push in grommet style,thanx, Oh I think maybe they didnt come factory, I jsut seen them advertised in Mid America for only 94-96 LT-1,( i stand corrected)but I do believe them yrs have a different style oil fill tube on the cover.

regular screw in type / ? about breather

I think it's the regular screw in type cap, plain black with the Mobil 1 propaganda on it.

Does anyone know if one of the Mid America chrome valve breather will fit under the stock hood without modification?

well i just stuck a K&N breather on, the threads dont line up just right, so it doesnt get tight(bummer) but it fits with no problem.,good luck and thanx
