Trying to decide whether to try and polish my old valve covers or buy repro new. Price will have a factor as well. Anyone have any success cleaning their aluminum finned covers by glass beading? Does that work or does something else work better? What about the new repro covers anyone buy a set and would like to comment on their quality/price?

Oh, and also, should the casting flaw/seam through the O be there as well, or was that only found on the 67 327/350hp? I have an early 66 car built in Nov. of 65.

Thanks,

Don't bead-blast them - it'll ruin the surface texture; send them to Jerry MacNeish ( www.z28camaro.com ) and have them re-skinned, and they'll come back like the one in the pic (early low-script staggered-hole cover). The casting flaw through the "o" didn't appear until very late in the model year - your car is too early for the flaw.
