I started taking the valve covers off tonight, and I ran into a bit of a snag on the passenger side. The Air Conditioner compressor is hovering ever so slightly over the valve cover edge, while a hard line running to the carb is doing the same on the other side. Needless to say one will have to be moved but i'm not sure which is the best soultion. I'm going to sleep on this tonight but if you can get back to me as soon as you can I would much appreciate it. ;help

you should be able to unbolt the a.c. compressor without losing the freon, remove the adjustment bolts and it should move enough.carefull no to move it too much , it may leak.

I can't count the number of times I've moved my a/c compressor out of the way to get to the valve cover, headers etc.... I can move it pretty far without any worry.

Well I'm finally out of the garage (for now) and I got the valve covers removed (Had to move the compressor) and they are sanded and ready for paint. I took on two projects this weekend, i'm doing the valve covers and gaskets/door panal repainting. Whew....I'm about half way done I just have to paint the door panals and valve covers and reasemble everything....Lets hope it all fits like it should! :D

Well, today everything got put back into place and is in running order! I took her out of a test drive and performed flawlessly. I noticed a new leak from the timing chain cover...yay :( . But other than that the door panals are back on and she looks great! I can see now why they never had a good reputation for fit and finish. I was so mad at my door panal i threw my screw driver down (away from the car) and took a break inside before i had an anurism. My sister and her friend stopped by the house when I putting the vette away and the first words out of her mouth when she looked at my car was "Holy *rhymes with spit*!* I consider that a job well done... :D

Sadly no.... as of right now i dont have the power steering redone and i wouldn't trust it on a trip of that mileage. After school ends and summer begins when i can work full time again so i can pay for it, I will have it rebuilt. Just in time for the Bloomington show! 6 miles from my house!!!!!! :D :) :D
