As some of you may have read, I'm very new to this forum. I bought my '65 coupe just about a month ago (4 weeks tomorrow!) and just registered on this forum about a week ago.
I started a thread here yesterday morning called "Really BAD Morning" and the response and all the kind words and support are overwhelming. Everyone has really made me feel a lot better! :)

You all have made me feel part of a family - even better yet, a family with a similar and shared interest.

Thank you all VERY much for all your kind words, your support, and comments
Unfortunately, when it comes to the technical questions most people post I'm not going to be very helpful here as I'm new to "Vette ownership and I'm not much of a shadetree mechanic, but I'll be learning as I go along and hopefully will be able to contribute here in some small way anyway.

Thank you again everyone for your support yesterday, you really helped me when I was so upset. I hope with my work schedule i'm able to get out to Corvettes at Carlisle in Aug and that a lot of you show up there - I'd like to buy you guys a beer! :beer

Barry,

About all you can do is fix her up and move on.
On the lighter side, at Carlisle, a buch of us park in the NCRS member parking area east of the yellow and white stripe NCRS Gallery tent. Join us!

Just my plans with her!

As for Carlisle, thanks for the info. I've never been to the show there before but it's only about an hour and a half from me so if my schedule allows I'M THERE! I just joined NCRS so I'd love to park in that area also and join a lot of you. Thanks for that bit of info :)

Barry,

Glad you're enjoying our little community here. :)

Guy,
how generous of you! LOL

Phxraptor
yep, it's pretty great here :)

Barry,

hope to see you at Carlisle, if not sooner! From where I live I about an 1 1/2 hours away also. have been going to Carlisle since 1986, when I moved into Maryland from South Dakota.

Barry,

For those people who haven't been to Carlisle, you may wish to imagine yourself on a sunny day, standing on a large hill surrounded by thousands of Corvettes.

In fact, no need to imagine. I shot this panaoramic view and stitched together 24 photos. In it, you get to see approximately 1/3 of the Corvettes in Carlisle on that weekend.

For the full effect, make sure Auto-Sizing is off in your browser.
(Click on Tools at the top of the Internet Explorer window, then Internet Options, Advanced, MultiMedia and remove tickmark beside Enable Automatic Image Resizing) Don't forget to scroll the photo to the right. :D

Heaven

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to be there.
That photo shows how incredible it must be and only showing about a third of the cars??!!
Seeing all those beautiful cars, I think I'll be in heaven (definately no pun intended! LOL)

;) You never know. Sometimes it's the new guy who opens the eyes of us old farts to see something we've been missing, or perhaps forgot all about. As a member of this community, you'll always be helpful - just remember to "Save The Wave"! :w

WOW, another beautiful pic of Carlise. What paradise, 'Vettes as far as the eye can see!
:)

I can't wait to meet a lot of you there.

BTW, a quick question regarding Carlise. I was on the Corvettes at Carlise website and I see something about registration seperate from just a gate admission. Now, I don't want to participate in the NCRS judging (my car is nice but sure not to THAT level) but some of the events look like fun like the parade thru town and Fun display.
If I register it looks like I can than participate in these events but in doing so is my car 'stuck" on the field all day? what if I needed to leave for some reason? Are there other things I should be aware of before I go ahead and register?

The is NO NCRS judging at Carlsile. The tent is an NCRS display only and there is parking next to the tent for NCRS members. Registration gives you and your passenger 3 days access and parking on fairgrounds just like in the picture. You come and go as you please - just think of it as a giant cruise night that lasts 3 days. Those pictures ARE the fun display with vendors and cars for sale in the background.
Big tip - register ahead of time online AND get there early if you want a good parking spot.

Loved seeing those panorama pictures of Carlisle!! We go every year and are constantly amazed at just how huge this affair is!!!

Barry, you'll love it all! You can be sure that you'll meet up with many CAC folks. Before August, I'll be collecting names/cell phone #s and we'll be coordinating some kind of a get-together or multiple meetings.

Glad you like the Corvette Action Center, too! You've come to the perfect place if you love Corvettes and want to learn more!!
