I've gone through a number of cars in my almost 61 years. My first was a VW with cloth sunroof...it was "The Bug" or "Beetle".
Next came my '71 Duster 340..."Ivan the Terrible"...Terrible on gas, but terribly fast.
Next was a '72 Toyota Land Cruiser..."Totamoana"
Then a '72 Demon 340..."Ivan II".
Then 2 Vettes....with no special names...just, "The Vette". Although the Vette I have now has a registration plate of "TOTL FUN".
I agree the C5s are a step up for us OFs 60+ yrs. especially when it comes to entry and exits and also for the XYLs, (XYLs = "former young ladies" for the 40 and under crowd).
Your info gave me an idea for another thread, check out "First cars" in the General Discussion section of the C5 forum. I'll go there now.
I like tunes almost as much as I like cars. I have named a lot of cars after favorite songs that I think have some connection to the cars. In fact, at one point my nickname became "Tunes", so my 1973 Opel GT became "Tunes." I won't bore you with the whole list, but here are a couple: 1955 Chev was "Runaway"; my 1967 Corvette is "Good Vibrations", with license plate "GDVBR8N."
