Video of inside running engine

Beats me, must have had a fiber optic tube or something. Wild stuff!!

A little off topic maybe but it could be a Vette:D:D

Amazing pictures...notice how the plug fires before TDC showing advance. Bill

Very disappointing that they didn't show all of the cycles (exhaust stroke missing). So, I guess it could have been better. One would thik that in this mordern era with all of the technology, small cameras, hi-speed Internet, etc they could have showed everything.

I agree, I kept on watching it thinking I was mistaken that the exhaust stroke was missing, but after I saw it a few times, I realized I was right. I wonder why it's missing.

That is awesome. I completely understand pinhole cameras and fiber optics. But where did the put the camera? It looked like it was between the head and the block. I don't know of any openings around there, unless they drilled a hole.

AWESOME!

That is a pretty neat video of inside the engine!!!!!!:upthumbs:upthumbs

Yea, same here but very cool video. First time I ever saw anything like that.

I'm wondering what kind of motor that was.I could only see 1 intake valve open but both exhaust valves opened.Cool video though.

So John, one can only see two valves -how do you think this video was taken?

If you look closely, you can just barely see the other intake valve, behind the one in the foreground.

That's a fairly common technique for combustion research in OEM advanced engine development labs; involves quartz inserts in the chamber wall and fiber optics.

oh yeah...:duh..

That is so cool...I also just notice how the foreground valve appears to be rotating while in the ignition stage..that's got to be one of the car-enthusiast top 10 videos of the year.
