I think my 1968 427/435 has the original engine. I base this on talking with the person who bought the car new and then the second owner who
sold it to me in 1991.

The engine code on the pad seems to coincide, being T0313IR (Tonawanda Plant, March 13, 427/435 3X2BC)

** However, there is another series of numbers to the right and a little
forward of the engine code. I believe this is called the VIN derivative stamping. The number 18S414916

Can someone enlighten me as to what the number signifies and interpret
the code ? Is it consistent with the engine code number ?

Thanks,

Newt

Does it match your VIN?
