I have a 69 vette that i bought as a parts car. The car came with no title. The vin # is 194379s710818 . But according to my vette book, the 1969 vin #'s for a coupe were between 194379s100001 and 194379s138762 The last 6 symbols indicate sequential production number. My car starts with the number 7. The info i gather from the book #'s shows that they should have produced 38,762 coupes. But records show they only produced 22,000 coupes in 69. Either way something is off with my VIN. Or is my book wrong?

Hi Dano, yes looks like your books wrong, and your vin looks ok 2007 corvette black book says, , the book states from700001 to 738726, and your car is 710818. so its the 10818th from the start of the build, its actually the fifth diget, and example my vette ends in 40926, and it started at 400001, so my car is in the first 1000 build, and its number 926 is the last three digets, so i think im correct see what others think regards wayne. sorry, Gm junkie your correct i mean 738762, thanks.

7 was the car line series code for the 1969 models. All of them will be 194**9S7xxxxx

Car line series code for '68 was a 4 and a 4 again in 70. 1 in 1971.

It varied.
