News: Von Esser Mexican Road Race car info!

I just got off the phone with the son of Bill Von Esser. He has banners from the race, the #12 license plates, and more from the race.
He said the car was repaired, numbers & lettering removed and sold in 1956 in Chicago. He has not found any serial number data, but said the car was rear-ended in Chicago just prior the to race with both of them in it. His Dad repaired the body himself, so he knows what the damage looked like & said he could id the car. He doesn't know who bought it.

That's interesting. I hope it is still around. This new info could lead to someone finding out that their '54 is actually a very important old race car.
