hey im new around here. lookin to get a louder exhaust. anyone else running the cherry bomb vortec mufflers? im looking for a nice deep, loud v8 sound. kinda liek flowmaster.

I would also like to put new mufflers on my Vette to make the sound a little louder. A nice deep bassy sound, not a ricer sound. :) I was looking at dynomax but they were about $200. That's quite a bit. :)

Each? I only paid $170/each, including shipping.

Hmm...I think that was for the pair of them, but I might have read it wrong. I'll go check the add again.

the vortecs usually go for around 60-70 each....but i can get them for like 25 through my discount at work! ive heard them on a z71 and they sound awesome. all i need is to hear they sound good on a vette and for that price im def gonan get em!

Wow!! Can't go wrong with that price. I would try it out. Maybe send a couple over my way. ;)

Welcome to CAC and the deeper sound makes you want to drive them more.

My newest M-A catalog (arrived 4-03) lists DynoMax 'Hi-Perf' mufflers for '74-'82 @ $199.99 a pair, and 'Ultra Flow' stainless steel mufflers for $349.99/pair.

Sounds about right. I paid $360, after shipping. So, I guess it would depend on what Mid-America wants for shipping costs.

Welcome SMKN97GP!

Welcome to Corvette Action Center.
You really can't beat the price you stated...but I wouldn't trade my chambered exhaust for anything. It has the BB rumble at idle, a deep throaty sound while driving and at WOT she just rips and roars!
My Lieutenant Sheriff advised me (with a grin) he can hear me coming a mile away.

I find that I do find any excuse (more than usual) to go for a drive and I rarely listen to tunes...just the sweet sound of the chambered exhaust! I also need to fill my tank more often because I like putting my foot into it just to listen to the sound of the beast. :D

Whatever you decide, I'm sure it will sound good, and you can't beat that price.
If you are interested in listening to my chambered, send me a PM or an email and I'll send you my phone # and set up a time to call and I'll rev her up for you!
