Looking for glass top for 2003 corvette coupe. looking for very low price, or possible trade. I have a black hard top to trade, brand new. Any one tired of their glass top just let me know.

Glass Top

I just bought a C5 with 16K miles on the East coast.
It is being shipped to the west. It has a glass top and I am
interested in finding the weight of these 2 tops. I plan to use this car
as a dedicated road race project. If the solid top is lighter, I will trade you.
My car should be here in another week. Keep in touch.
Thanks,

The glass top weighs a little more than the hard top. I don't know the exact weight but as far as racing goes, you'd save a little weight with the hard-top installed. Plus, it'll keep the car cooler inside.

Does anyone have both tops that they can weigh.
I suspected that the glass top was heavier,
but I would like to know how heavy it is to determine if it is worth trading.
Thanks

I have both tops. I'll try to take a small, industrial scale from work home tonight and weigh the two. I'll post back here tomorrow if I'm successful.

Regards,
Kenny

I just weighed my glass top today to ship it to an eBay winner and it was 22lbs.

Thanks for the input. I did get a message from VAmagred01 Kenny. He confirmed the same number of 22 lbs for the glass top, and he weighed his fiberglass top also. To my surprise, the fiberglass painted top was 3 pounds heavier.
I'm sticking with the glass top for racing. Will probably paint it to keep the sun out.
I know that sounds crazy to paint a glass top, but it will be lighter, and the glass top has more headroom because there is no headliner upholstery. Thanks again !!
