Washer Pump Removal?

What size socket is needed to removed the washer pump. It also must be a deep socket that is used from the inside of the container right?

What a pain it seems. I don't have the right tool...any suggestions?

I don't remember the size right off its about the size of the large spark plug socket. I used that and a extension and its came right out. its a bit of a bind use a wobble extention and it will be a cinch. harbor freight tools has the wobble sets. the top nut is plastic and contains the filter screen so be careful. good luck.

simple drop the hole thing out from the bottom then repair.

it's a 7/8" deepwell socket with about 12" extension

clar2001 : I actually tried that, but couldn't manage to get it out of the bottom.

unbolt the vapor canaster fron the bottom and the plate under it then you will have plenty of room to drop it out unless you fell you can do in the car.
Took me less than 15 min, to get it out

Hey everyone...it's all done, and I now have killer windshield wipers that spray! Whew-hew!

clar2001, I actually did unbolt the vapor canister, but still could not get the darn thing out! Whast I ended up doing was removing the slatted grill on the side, and working with one hand through that and the other underneath. A bit of a pain, but it worked!

Clar, that is a big time YUP!! just came in from the new p.s. pump/pully/hoses, gotta love the clearence they give you there. GO MARLINS
